Highly Qualified British Teacher Seeking Employment

My name is Michaela Geiter and I am British born and educated.  I gave up a successful career in the financial services industry to train to be a primary school teacher.  I graduated top of my class from the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom where I earned a Bachelor of Education degree in Primary Education and Information Communication Technology with First Class Honors, (Magna cum Laude).   I am a fully qualified teacher in the United Kingdom.  Since my recent marriage to a U.S. citizen and subsequent move to California, I have achieved certification for teaching in California. This includes the CSET, CTEL, CBEST, and NCLB tests and qualifications.  I currently work as a substitute teacher for the Vista Unified School District and as a volunteer for the San Marcos JoliAnne Leichtag Elementary School.

Utilize Technology & Traditional Teach Methods?

My degree specializes in teaching children with technology and using it as a tool for professional development.  I have a wealth of experience in using technology to enhance children’s education.  I realize that you will have staffed your school for 2008-9 school year, but I would really like to be considered for any opportunity that may arise in the future to work at your school.  I believe that using technology in education enhances the learning and teaching experience and promotes development beyond expectations.    I have demonstrated my ability to observe and implement strategies to enhance education when my educational research was presented and published to other professionals in the E-Learning Conference Plymouth, England in 2005.
